Floor Mommersteeg constructs airy, transparent shapes out of nylon wire, a strong and sturdy material with a glasslike sparkle, which can be tinted in the hues of the air and the sea.
Floor Mommersteeg became a specialist in refined working with nylon fibres, creating light and lighthearted jewellery. In her new collection sparkles the transparently clear and colourful material into dazzling and refreshing ‘Waterfalls’.
Mommersteeg is fascinated by the processes involved in making a new creation. A wide range of techniques, from melting to connecting and flattening, result in artfully detailed networks. Poetic, with organic leaf shapes, or all Cubist angles, these delicate structures translate into robust, eye-catching forms when worn or placed as objects.
Opening hours: Wednesday – Saturday 12h-18 h.
There will be a reception on Friday the 21st of July between 5 and 9.
The artist will be present.
